WHEN NONSENSE HITS

145

This gesture drawing came during a harsh emotional moment as I was witnessing the destruction of a wild herd of mustangs in a reserve in Wyoming. I have been following the McCullough Peaks herd for years through the lens of Sandy Sisti who is a talented photographer. Their lives were a symbol of freedom and wilderness. And like that it has been disseminated and destroyed in a few days. I still feel so powerless.

I was working on a very large drawing that I simply destroyed. I totally lost the direction of it. Wars, unlimited destruction don’t make any sense.

Out of despair this gesture came. I feel so much for all the creatures who experience this nonsense.
